Web application for transliterating Judeo-Arabic text to Arabic and vice versa. The interface enables to choose from a set of different Judeo-Arabic dialects. The list of dialects are expected to continually grow.

The application returns the input text transliterated into Arabic. The Arabic text is normalized for Judeo-Arabic-Arabic text matching (or Text Reuse processes) and not Standard Arabic form.

1.  Insert (paste) the source text into the “Input Text” Field (no. 4).

2.   You may change the transliteration direction from “JDA2SA” (Judeo-Arabic to Arabic) to “SA2JDA” (Arabic to Judeo-Arabic) by changing the default choice in the “Mode” dropdown field (No. 1).

3.    You may choose the transliteration dialect from the “Select Dialect Map” dropdown field (No. 2). The default dialect “Baḥya/Qafiḥ” is the classic medieval Judeo-Arabic, based on Yosef Qafiḥ’s edition of “Duties of the Heart”.

4.      When ready press OK (No. 4) and the result will immediately show up in the “Result” field (No. 5).
